WHO WE ARE

Joanie Bégin-Morin

My curiosity for healthy living led me to take my first yoga class in my late teens in my native Quebec. I will always be grateful for listening to my intuition that day, as it led me on a phenomenal journey and opened up a whole world of travel and studies of the ancient holistic approaches of Ayurveda, yoga and bodywork. Landing in central Vermont has brought many of my passions together: healthy living, outdoor adventures and strong community.

I started Blossom Ayurveda in 2017 holding a vision: offering a platform for people to discover how the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda and Yoga can help all of us find balance in this crazy world. I wanted to offer not only a haven of peace to step away from the stresses of life, but a place one would leave with more tools, energy and trust to create lasting wellbeing for themselves and those around them. As a certified ayurvedic health consultant, massage therapist, yoga instructor, and spiritual coach, it has been so profound to build community with a wide variety of clients and students, seeing the vision come to life!

My approach reflects my way of life: intuitive, grounded, positive and heart-centered. Rooted in the wisdom of Ayurveda and Yoga, my offerings also integrate western understandings of musculoskeletal work to help you thrive and feel whole. I bring joy and deep listening to my work, and strive to create a safe and nurturing environment where all are welcome. My diverse background and intuitive guidance helps me meet you where you are at. My classes and one-on-one work explore the themes of self-awareness, spiritual growth and deep, lasting healing.

I completed my Ayurvedic health practitioner and Ayurvedic Spiritual Counselor certifications through the New World Ayurveda School under Dr. Paul Dugliss, MD. I hold certifications in Massage Therapy from Wellness Massage Insitute, Marma Chikitsa from Dr. Lad's Ayurvedic Institute, Hatha and Ayurvedic Yoga from New World Ayurveda and Shambhava School of Yoga. I am also a teacher of Heart-Based Meditation and an eternal student of Life!

I also love improvisational dance, spending quality time with my family & friends, meditate in community, cook and play barefoot in the woods (or on a snowboard!)

My passion for movement precedes my earliest memories.  As a young child and well into young adulthood, most of my days were spent immersed in my love affair with dance, and my formative post-college years were spent in New York City exploring the depths of my artistic well.  Yoga and Ayurveda had piqued my interest and awarded me glimpses of peace and introspection during my years of formal education, but it wasn’t until landed in NYC that I began to dive into these practices in earnest. Their influences provided a necessary complement to my fiery drive - a sense of trust, patience and gratitude towards myself and this life that I hadn’t before experienced.  I saw a way off the hamster wheel, and thankfully, I followed.

My growing fascination with Ayurveda led me to embark upon a journey of self-study through Kripalu's Foundations of Ayurveda  program, and after two years of self-study, I received my NAMA certification as an Ayurvedic Health Counselor. Concurrently, I completed my 200-hr Yoga Teacher Training, and from these profound experiences, I garnered a true passion for guiding and supporting others through their own journeys of introspection and self-realization. This work is based on the belief that love & attention are the most powerful vehicles for physical healing and spiritual growth. Balance can feel so hard to attain, but through consistent conversation with your body & energy, it is surely within your reach. I aim to highlight the areas of your life where you shine, where your gifts reside. And where imbalance has arisen, we address simple solutions to help you reestablish your sense of harmony and embody your best self; we all deserve that.

With these intentions sealed on my heart, I set off to start anew in Vermont. After several years spent building community and sharing bits of Yoga and Ayurveda whenever and wherever I could, I feel blessed beyond measure to be a part of the team at Blossom Ayurveda.  Apprenticing one-on-one with Joanie and learning the wisdom surrounding the traditional bodywork treatments through her sincere, intentional lens has been an incredible gift. It is an honor to be sharing my passion for these healing sciences, and I am so excited to share what I have integrated, to create safe and sacred space for folks to heal themselves, and to continue this lifelong journey as a student of Yoga & Ayurveda.

I have had the great pleasure of studying with a number of gifted teachers over the years, namely Raghunath, Manorama Devi, Justin Wolfer, Anisha Durve, Dr Vasant Lad.  Certified in Yoga instruction, Ayurvedic Health Coaching and Marma Therapy, I have also studied Ayurvedic Bodywork, Yin Yoga, Born To Give Bhakti yoga instruction and Sanskrit

You can find me out in the community teaching weekly inspired yoga and dance classes, pouring my love into MJH Ayurvedic Body Oils + Ritual Elixirs, falling in love again and again with Hubbard Park, and doing my best to accept my perfect imperfection and encouraging others to do the same. So happy to be here and looking forward to connecting with you!
